Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 cups torn bread
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, heat milk until film forms over the top. Combine butter and milk, stirring until butter is melted. Cool to lukewarm.
2. Combine sugar, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for 1 minute. Slowly add to milk mixture.
3. Place bread in slightly greased 1 1/2 quart casserole dish.
4. Sprinkle with chocolate chips if desired
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes or until set. Serve Warm.
Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
